"PURE RELIGION"
 James 1:27

Introduction:
Religion may be, "pure and undefiled" or it may be "impure and defiled."

I.    IS ONE RELIGION AS GOOD AS ANOTHER?
        1.    If so, an impure one is as good as pure one.
        2.    If so, why did Jesus take away one religion and give us another?
        3.    If so, why did thousands of Jews give up their religion for the
               religion of Christ?
        4.    If so, why did Paul give up the Jewish religion that was so
               profitable to him? Gal. 1:13,14
        5.    If so, why did Paul persuade men to give up their systems in
              order to embrace Christian religion?

II.    A PURE RELIGION MUST HAVE:
        1.    A pure object of worship--God.
        2.    A pure Author and Sacrifice--Christ.
        3.    A pure doctrine-- Gospel.
        4.    A pure worship-- Spiritual.
        5.    Pure ordinances-- God-given.
        6.    A pure institution-- Church.
        7.    A pure membership-- Christians.

III.     THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION TEACHES US:
        1.    To be pure in heart. Matt. 5:8; I Tim. 5:22
        2.    To be pure in speech. Phil. 1:27; James 1:26
        3.    To be pure in conduct. Matt. 5:16; 1 John 2:15
        4.    To "keep unspotted from world." Text.
